after crossing the stage with diplomas in hand, the kirkwood preparatory academy class of 2007 thought they had put Verificata behind them. the ruthless gossip hound and ominously looming anonymous presence had spared no victim during their time in high school, destroying relationships and reputations with little more than some well timed mass texts, the occasional strategically captured photo, and a total lack of concern for any of her subjects' feelings. viewed by some as a hero and others as the devil incarnate, both sides could agree on one thing: if you were worth talking about, Verificata was talking about you.
in the years following graduation, the infamous blog and accompanying social media accounts went quiet, and eventually, talk of Verificata was met with laughter and even fond stories of overblown teenage drama. after all, it was just so long ago, wasn't it? they had all grown up and moved on, figuratively and literally. there were new careers, new families, and a whole host of new adult responsibilities to contend with. who had time to rehash petty nonsense?
well, apparently someone did. a week before the class' 10 year reunion, Verificata rose from the ashes, their old blog page replaced by a mysterious countdown timer to the same date and time listed on the reunion mixer rsvps. the newly launched page bore no explanation, only a question: are you ready?
grads is a gpsl focused on the lives of a graduating class of a fictional upper east side private school and the annonymous gossip blog who's come back to have a second go at messing with their lives ten years later. our hope is to be a lighthearted, low-pressure group ready for some over-the-top old school drama and a lot of fun! the gpsl's setting will begin approximately a week before the scheduled reunion in order to give writers a chance to settle into their characters, and will continue as a typical town comm with a gossip blog element as events unfold after the reunion. we plan to incorporate anonymous 'blind item' postings, character-submitted secrets, member spotlight interviews, group events, and other activities that we've missed from comms of the past, and encourage members to help us out by suggesting new activities or setting ones up on their own.
sometimes, who you once were can be just as defining as who you now are. each premade is based on the yearbook superlative students received ten years ago as seniors. how they have (or haven't!) changed since graduation is entirely up to you! some superlatives are meant to be shared by two people - these are all marked as such.
